IT’S NICE TO MEET YOU

Hello there! I'm Mike Wenzel, a seasoned Creative Director making a deliberate pivot into the world of UX Design. My career has been built on understanding the 'why' behind every project – that core driver that connects brands to their audiences. Now, I'm channeling that same passion into crafting intuitive and impactful user experiences.

For years, I've led teams to create compelling narratives and visual stories for multi-million dollar brands, driving marketing campaigns, and shaping brand identities. This experience has honed my ability to understand user needs, translate them into actionable strategies, and deliver results that resonate. I've learned that at the heart of every successful campaign, every memorable ad, is a deep understanding of the people on the other side. My print work has been featured in publications like The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, and The Smithsonian Magazine, and my TV commercials have reached audiences on major networks like NBC, FOX, and ESPN.

WHAT I BRING TO THE TABLE

Now, I'm bringing that strategic, user-centered mindset to UX Design. I'm excited to dive deep into user research, wireframing, and prototyping, to create digital experiences that are not only visually engaging but also seamlessly functional. I believe my background in creative leadership, coupled with my passion for understanding user motivations, positions me uniquely to deliver exceptional UX solutions.

I'm committed to fostering collaborative environments where creativity and user insights intersect. I thrive on translating complex problems into elegant, user-friendly solutions. I'm eager to leverage my experience in understanding audience needs and translating them into compelling experiences to create digital products that truly make a difference.

Based in Madison, Wisconsin, I enjoy life with my wonderful wife and our two pets: Ellie, our spirited chihuahua mix, and Moxi, our enigmatic black cat. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy playing the drums and guitar, going to concerts, hiking, and paddleboarding.

Design can be art. Design can be simple. That’s why it’s so complicated.
